About the Festival

The Arizona Children's Festival is organized by the Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue (FID), a non-profit organization dedicated to promote mutual respect, collaboration, and community service through inter-cultural dialogue.

In 2008, the FID board decided to launch a series of events and activities for children to make them aware of the cultural richness and diversity within our society. The first Arizona Children's festival was celebrated in Spring 2008 with the theme of 'peace'.

Continuing on with the effort, FID presents the second Arizona Children's Festival on April 25, 2009. The festival includes:

  • Live music/dance performances by children's groups
  • Award ceremony for
  •
-artwork contest among elementary school students, and
-essay contest among middle school students
  • Essay reading by the 2009 winners
  •
  • Art exhibition

  • We believe that through the performances and the contests, the Arizona Children's Festival will serve to increase children's awareness diversity, enrich their education, and encourage their creativity.

The admission to the Festival is FREE and no RSVP is required. If you are looking for a fun event for the whole family, just come to the Mesa Arts center on 25 April 2009, Saturday, at 1:00 - 4:00 pm to be a part of this unique event.

If you would like your child to enter one of these contests or if you are a school administrator/teacher and would like to promote this event and the contests at your school, please contact us at azcf@fid-az.org or at (480) 648-6703.
